Employer Not Depositing PF — What You Can Do

This is one of the most serious violations. If your salary slip shows PF deduction but EPFO passbook doesn't reflect it:

  1. File complaint on EPFiGMS immediately
  2. EPFO can conduct surprise inspection of employer's records
  3. Employer faces penalty + interest for non/late deposit
  4. EPFO can attach employer's bank account to recover dues
  5. Non-deposit is a criminal offense — imprisonment up to 3 years

Once KYC is employer-approved on UAN portal, it appears as "Verified" and PF withdrawal / transfer becomes available.

Exit Date Not Updated — How to Fix

  1. Request previous employer to update exit date on EPFO Employer Portal
  2. If employer unresponsive — file grievance on EPFiGMS citing "Exit date not updated"
  3. EPFO can update exit date after verification if employer is unresponsive
  4. Alternatively, approach EPFO Regional Office with employment documents (relieving letter, salary slips)
