NPS Section 80CCD(1B): Rs 50,000 Extra Tax Deduction — Old Regime Mein Maximum Kaise Claim Karein
Section 80C mein Rs 1.5 lakh ki limit hai — PF, LIC, PPF, ELSS sab isme aate hain. Agar yeh limit already full ho gayi hai toh bhi aap extra Rs 50,000 NPS mein invest karke additional tax deduction le sakte hain — Section 80CCD(1B) ke through. Yeh 80C ke upar hai, 80C se alag.
Simple calculation: 30% slab mein ho toh Rs 50,000 extra invest karo → Rs 15,000 tax bachega (plus cess). Maximum combined NPS deduction — 80CCD(1) + 80CCD(1B) + 80CCD(2) = significant amount per year.
80CCD(1B) — Key Points: Extra Rs 50,000 NPS Tier 1 mein invest karo | 80C ke upar (total R 2 lakh possible with both) | Old tax regime mein hi available | Both govt AND private employees eligible | NPS Tier 1 account zaroori | PRAN se invest karo

Old tax regime mein hi yeh deduction milegi — new regime mein 80CCD(1B) nahi milta
New Regime Mein Kya Milta Hai?
New Tax Regime aur NPS: New regime mein 80CCD(1) aur 80CCD(1B) dono available nahi — sirf 80CCD(2) (employer contribution) ka benefit milta hai. Agar aap new regime mein hain aur NPS invest kar rahe hain, toh sirf employer contribution ka deduction milega. Own contribution ka koi tax benefit new regime mein nahi hai. Old regime choose karna padega 80CCD(1B) benefit lene ke liye.
Employer Contribution — 80CCD(2) Alag Se
80CCD(2) employer ke contribution pe milta hai — yeh 80CCD(1B) se completely alag hai:
- Private sector: Employer contribution up to 10% of basic+DA — full deduction, no ceiling
- Central Govt employees: 14% of basic+DA — budget 2018 se enhanced
- 80CCD(2) new regime mein bhi milta hai — yeh ek unique benefit hai NPS ka
- Employer ka contribution Form 16 Part B mein shown hota hai — separately mention hota hai
Kab 80CCD(1B) Invest Karna Chahiye?
- 80C limit pehle se full ho gayi ho (EPF + LIC + ELSS se)
- Old tax regime choose kar rahe ho
- Long-term retirement savings goal hai
- Market-linked returns ke saath comfortable ho
Agar 80C limit fill nahi hui hai, toh pehle 80C maximize karo (80CCD(1) through NPS Tier 1 mein direct contribution — Rs 1.5L ceiling tak), phir 80CCD(1B) extra Rs 50K karo. Maximum deduction milegi iss sequence mein.
